There was a time when I did not care about my health and weight at all and used to eat junk food without gaining kilos. Post I gave birth to a handsome son, I gained a lot of weight which was difficult to shed. I was told by family and friends that I will get in shape gradually. Soon, the kilos started piling up, my clothes started getting tighter and my health began to take the beating of my unhealthy lifestyle. People started passing comments about my weight and I realized that’s enough. I knew I needed to get back in shape, so I started my weight loss journey and never looked back.
I had tried to lose weight a lot of times in the past but I never quite succeeded. After many failed attempts, I learned the 4 essential secrets to losing weight. These secrets are :

Even though working out is very important for losing weight, what worked for me was the ketogenic diet. Switching to a diet that you are not familiar with and sticking to it is not possible without strong willpower and dedication. You won’t see results overnight or after following it for a week or so. Patience is the key – like I said in the beginning – it’s not a marathon or competetion that you need to win, it is a conscious journey towards a healthy mind, body, and soul.
There is no denying that everyone feels a little down and out at some point and can easily stray from their fitness goals. In my case, my husband was my sole strength and motivator. He would follow my diet routine just to give me company so tha I stay motivated. Looking at his efforts, my energy levels would go up and I would feel motivated to achieve my fitness goals. Also, whenever I used to feel low, I used to listen to my body and understand what it wanted. It is the results that keep me going and move forward with my weight loss journey. Moreover, it feels incredibly amazing when people compliment you on your weight loss and you start fitting into all your favorite old clothes.
One of the most important lifestyle changes that I have made during this journey is to stop eating large portions of food and do intermittent fasting. My biggest challenge was to stop sugar intake in any form as I was a complete sweet tooth. Gradually, I overcame this habit as well.
On my quest to weight loss, I have realized that losing weight is not as difficult as it may seem in the beginning. Given, it is not the easiest task in the world, but there is absolutely nothing in this world that you cannot achieve once you set your heart to it. When you finally do so, you will experience incomparable joy and happiness.
